    Great life-saving item!
Highly recommended for fellow CFIIs who fly planes with no way of detecting odorless, tasteless gas in the cockpit!

The week before I had borrowed a Piper Arrow for some cross-country training, I had purchased this unit. I turned on the cockpit heat for the flight even though it was only 36 degrees outside. About 20 minutes into the flight, the device started to flash like a fire alarm. I went back to the FBO and explained what had occurred.
Following examination, they discovered that the engine’s exhaust was leaking. I am grateful for it.

CO is a significant threat on an airplane, thus we utilize this equipment in both of our planes. It is the most effective. I’ve tried various different units made by other firms throughout the years. Others are costly, and others are really costly, and they turn off after two years, even if you turn off the device after each flight. The GZAIR CO monitors are modest, yet they provide an audible and visible warning. The price is excellent, as it is less than a third of the cost of the “best” monitor I previously purchased. The only thing lacking from this device is a “end of life” warning. We’ll buy two more when that happens, so don’t worry. Each plane has one, which is situated in the pilot’s line of sight. Highly suggested….

I wanted to know if any carbon monoxide was entering the cabin of my 10-year-old automobile because I drive a lot. I bought this tiny device and put it to the test to make sure it functioned. The monitor promptly responded with warning lights and an audio alarm after I placed it close to some burning materials. I was astonished by how much CO I was getting exposed to, even from across the room, as it gave me varying readings according to how far I was from the fire. Especially in cramped spaces with poor airflow, that stuff is unquestionably unsafe. I am now completely certain that my automobile is secure because while testing in my car, the monitor never deviated from zero.
I’ll now take this portable, well-made monitor with me when I travel. I strongly suggest this device if you’re seeking for a CO monitor but aren’t sure which to pick.

  5. EMTAL

CO monitor was bought for my aircraft. By the time I finish the run-up and the preflight ops check, the unit has self-calibrated and is ready to go. I haven’t received any alerts yet and I hope I never will. The voice and light notifications passed the garage test with flying colors.

  6. BenWebb

Straight out of the box, simple to use.
I bought this device after smelling automobile exhaust. Nobody could tell, although I had a hunch for a while. Initially, I was going to get a carbon monoxide detector for my house, but I decided against it because of this unit’s accuracy, practicality, and small size.
Since I remove the unit when I leave my car parked, I wish it were simpler to reinstall it into the plastic holder, but that’s a minor nuisance.
A significant amount of carbon monoxide was entering the interior of my car since my manifold bracket had split. The small device will flash a red LED and beep when the PPM was too high, especially during enthusiastic driving when the cabin would fill with exhaust. I immediately rectified the problem, but I keep using it just in case.
In order to utilize it in the tent safely during a pending camping trip, I intend to bring it.

  7. roberts

Wanted one for flying; previously purchased a household model, but it was quite loud, big, and heavy.
Another one was bought, but it wasn’t trustworthy. This one is compact, well-made, simple to use, and can hang on a lanyard. Since it uses regular batteries, it is not U/S when the power runs out.
delivery from the USA is really quick.

  8. pilot

I’ve been using these in a general aviation aircraft for years. Cost-effective and far superior to cheap dot detectors. Without this in the cockpit, you cannot fly.

  9. Thomas

I use it in my airplane. Very sensitive, but free of false alarms.

  10. Kendra

I bought this for use in an airplane and so far I’m impressed. It hasn’t alarmed yet, but it appears to be a well made device and I suspect it will work if the situation arises.

  11. Amy

Nice size and just installed it in a small aircraft. Will find out if I can hear it over the noise tomorrow when i start the plane. so far so good.

This little thing is so nice and accurate!! I was shocked at how well it works for the price!!
